Future Luxury Master Suite

On the top floor of our current project, we are creating a luxury master suite. The suite takes up the entire top floor, complete with exposed brick, a walk-in closet, an office nook, and a large bedroom and bathroom. On one bedroom wall, we built a custom space for a bio-fuel fireplace. Not only is this a unique design feature, it is also an efficient and effective heating solution. The fireplace is flue-less and does not require any installation or utility connection for fuel supply. It is fueled instead by a renewable, green, modern energy source called Denatured Ethanol which burns clean. The bathroom will have a six foot whirlpool tub, a stand up shower, double bowl vanity, and a dual-flush toilet. These toilets allow you to select the appropriate amount of water usage from 0.9 GPF to 1.6 GPF which results in several gallons of water saved per year.

Reducing Energy Costs

Urban Space Developers incorporates several building practices that lower the home owner's monthly energy costs, including tankless water heaters, dual-zone heating and cooling systems, Energy Star rated appliances and windows, etc. Another way to conserve energy is by using Solarflex, a premium water based coating, on the roofs of our homes. Solarflex not only prolongs roof life, but it reflects up to 85% of the sun's heat and UV which lowers roof and interior temperatures and reduces air conditioning costs. This product meets Energy Star guidelines for energy efficiency.

In the picture, you can also see two skylights that we added to the master suite. By creating additional places for natural light to enter the home, Urban Space Developers provides another money-saving green design for home owners.

Saving the Floors, Piece by Piece

Under the blue tarp are all the floor boards that we pulled up from the house during deconstruction to save and reuse. The floor boards were removed to add new Advan Tech sub flooring, a superior flooring product ranked #1 by Builder Magazine for the past 8 years (http://www.advantechperforms.com) Each floor board will be put back into the house to recreate the original floors.

Reused Products Make Unique Features

This is a picture of an old chest that we found at Second Chance, Inc in Baltimore. We are going to re-use it as a wet bar in our newest renovation. The chest will be redesigned with a recycled top, a place for a sink, and possibly a cut out for a refrigerator. It's amazing what you can do with products that someone else has no more use for in their original design.
